A small but useful note

Dress for the day ahead.

Comfort first. You’ll be walking a lot in your first week, so save the formal fits for when they matter.

First day

Formals are a safe choice—keep it neat and comfortable.

For boys

A formal shirt, polo, or plain tee with clean jeans or trousers works well.

For girls

A short or long kurti with jeans is a common, comfortable option.

Simple rule

Avoid flashy looks; dress decently and comfortably without overspending.

04 · Campus decode · Session recap, 12 July 2026

Everything seniors wish they knew in first year.

A practical recap of the session—from the first week and CGPA to sports, placements, and finding your rhythm.

7 essential topicsBuilt from a senior sessionOpen any topic

Finish reporting and document verification first

One parent or guardian joins the auditorium, as shared in the session

Classes commonly begin after a roughly one-week settling-in period

Use the time for orientation, remaining formalities, and hostel setup

A and B Schemes cover the same content across the first year

Subject order changes between schemes, so there is no need to worry

Mathematics stays common: DE & LA in Semester 1, T & NM in Semester 2

Your timetable varies by section—attend regularly and stay consistent

One focused study hour each day is more useful than last-minute cramming

Use notes, PYQs, and study material as support—not a substitute for effort

Build your CGPA strongly in first year before core subjects become tougher

A 10 CGPA semester can qualify for a university scholarship; verify the latest policy

Build good friendships, respect roommates, and keep your room organized

The session shared typical entry windows of 6:45–7:00 PM for boys and 6:30–6:45 PM for girls

Weekend and holiday outings usually need proper timing or permission

Rules are often stricter in Semester 1—always follow the latest hostel notice

Explore cricket, football, basketball, volleyball, badminton, athletics, and more

Play in inter-hostel, intra-university, or national-level competitions

Use the gym, swimming pool, and fitness spaces to stay active

A little physical activity keeps stress lower and campus life more enjoyable

Build technical skills, projects, coding practice, and communication over time

Keep your CGPA healthy—many companies use it as an eligibility criterion

Your preparation matters more than the college name

Focus on steady progress, not placement anxiety in your first semester

Don’t compare your effort or marks with everyone around you

Make good friends, try clubs, and learn new skills

Balance academics with fun, rest, and healthy routines

Mistakes are part of learning—ask for help when you need it

Campus policies and timings can change. Always follow the latest official KIIT and hostel notice.
